Character House Custom Upload Guide

Custom Upload lets you build your own hairstyles, faces, outfits and accessories in the demo. The parts, the template file, the commission rules and the save risk.

Custom Upload arrived in the demo on 13 October 2026. It turns the character editor from a set of presets into a slot system you can fill with your own art. Almost every part is open: hairstyles, facial features, outfits and accessories.

Where the template lives

The official route is the in-game Custom Tutorial. It explains the required file names, sizes and layout, and the same information is published at the developer’s custom page, elfartworld.com/static/custom.html.

Start from the template rather than drawing a part from scratch. The game expects fixed anchors for each slot, and a part that skips them appears misaligned or does not load at all.

What the studio allows

The published terms are unusually clear, so they are worth quoting rather than paraphrasing:

QuestionOfficial answer
Who owns a custom part? The creator. The studio says it will not use related works without consent
Can players sell commissions?Yes. Private commission deals based on the Custom feature are allowed
Does the studio mediate disputes? No. Commissions are private transactions and disputes are settled between the players involved
Will creations be shared?Creators can tag the official account, and the studio may share interesting work
Where do people post them?A new fan-art channel in the Discord server

The practical consequence is that a paid commission is a private deal with no official protection. Check the creator’s history before paying, and keep the conversation on a platform you can point back to.

The save problem that arrived with it

The same update addressed characters who failed to appear, or where only the gift box rendered. The studio traced both to corrupted save data written during an abnormal exit, not to Custom Upload itself.

Two changes followed. Saving was rewritten to reduce corruption, and a save reset option was added for players who could not play at all. A reset can cost gifts, customisation data or player settings, depending on which file was damaged, and the game now tells you which of the three you lost.

Close the game through the menu rather than killing the process. That is the behaviour that produced the corrupted files in the first place.

What is still official content

The demo opens almost all parts, but the studio says the full release will add more official items alongside player-made ones. Custom Upload is a supplement to the catalogue, not a replacement.

Step-by-step character setup is on the character creation guide, the demo download is on demo download, and display modes are explained on desktop modes.
